Hey guys, my 205 here. So far had the:

1.6 gti wheels and kuhmo tyres all round

35mm Hub centric spacers

Front lowered 40mm on spax springs and shocks

Peco stainless steel backbox

K&N air filter, and carb jetted up a size

Groved and vented disks with uprated pads

Clear indicators and smocked side repeaters

Smoothed boot

Had shell and doors resprayed

Mods that are coming soon:

Torsion bar lowered 50mm and 60mm front springs

1.9 Gti whells

Rallye Arch kit

Few problems so far, picked up a 205 Gr 1.4 today thinking that the engine wll drop straight in, but engine mounts are all diffrent :(

So goin to get the clutch sorted on it and sell it and then get a Xs engine :D

Enough jibber jabber, picture time :D

Good start, definitely needs a set of bumpers/red inserts and valances from an xs/gti, would improve the looks a lot!

Get the back lowered to match the front but don't take it any lower, your wheels will hit the arches, just even it up as its sitting nice at the front.

What is up with the bonnet? :D Is that a bra or did you paint part of it black? If so, why?!!

why not get a XS rather than defacing one by stealing its engine?, tidy looking car though you don't want to drop it 50mm though and definitely not 60mm you'll do the car worse than better will be completely undriveable at that height, what engine is in it? a XY or a TU, GTI front and rear valences would be a good next step, 1.9 gti wheels will rub at the rear btw due to the arch size

The bra was on it when I bought it ages ago, I just have the feeling if it comes off, the colour will be completly diffrent :/

Well my shell is amazing conditon and Gr that I bought today was 5 door, bad body work, rust and all paint faided but the engine is great, 1 lady owner from new, full service history and 23,000 miles

get some pics up of both engines and we can give you some pointers and tell you if it can be done, depending on engine type and shell layout the mounts can be changed to match up :D

Haven't had a update in ages

Done quite a few thing to my little pug, Was able to get some 1.9 gti wheels quite cheap but need a refurb. So picked them up from a nice man in peterbrough.

They were painted blue so got them shot blasted and sprayed silver

Looks better with those arches on, keep it up, I like the way it looks. I do think those quarter badges would look better if they weren't slated but thats just nit picking!

I mean quarter badges without the ridges, ala the GTI (without the gti text on of course).

Have you not found the 1.9 wheels to foul the arches at the back? Esp. seeing as you'll be lowering it?

Looks great mate. Sure what engine you have, its an F reg so should be a TU? Get your hands on a xs engine or a 1.3 ph1 106 Rallye engine and it will be a belter!

Cheers, Ali

It's only going down 20mm so it should be okay. Yer it's a 1.1 Tu engine

much prefer the original wheels, they look more balanced and less like a roller skate.

i think itll look good when you get the back dropped a tad, definently needs a pair of GTi valance though. Youll find that the rear wheels probs will rub, but you can cut away abit of the metal at the back and it should be fine, especially as you have the rallye arches on.

Will 20-30mm rub even with no back passengers?

more than likely, it shouldnt be too bad though... mine rubbed at standard height. Although your car does look alot higher than mine ever was so could be ok.

I'm running 195/50/15 and I have a little bit of rub on the back when I go go over bumps and stuff. I never really take back passengers but I can imagine it would be quite bad :(
