Gti6 Dyno Results What Figures Are We All Getting?

Evening all,

 

on Sunday I had my 205 gti6 on the dyno results are as follows

 

Measured power - 168.8bhp

 

Power corrected - 158.8bhp (didn't really understand the corrected part because power was measured at 168.8)

 

Power at the wheels - 148.4bhp

 

Torque - 135lb per foot

 

I was really happy with my results apart from the corrected part that just confused me. My engine is standard and only has an air filter + magnex backbox. I am just wondering really what results others running the gti6 lump have seen?

was the AFR checked?

 

power is about right for most engines I have seen, you get good ones and not so good but most healthy ones are within a few of the 167bhp.

 

torque seems a tad low though, what downpipe and centre section do you have?

I am using the standard xsara vts down pipe and I think it may be a 1.9 centre box. The bore is 2" I think from memory. They did say that the torque was a little down but mine seemed to be the highest of all the gti6's by a couple of lb's. The power at the wheels was a good couple hp more than the others even though I had slightly less power than some others is this possibly to do with the vts box as I was the only one running it?

When mine was tested as a standard GTi6 it made 162bhp fly / 135bhp wheels. But on the same day it was RR'd with a bunch of FTOs and all of them were reading a little lower than their previous runs.

Its not on ITBs and runs around 190 fly / 160 wheels, but for comparison I'm gonna get it RR'd at the same place it was RR'd before the ITB and mapping session, just because.

Mine makes 181, but it has bodies and management, last map print out is below - you have to be careful comparing these though, as a lot depends on the RR set-up:

Sorry, don't have that info. It hasn't been mapped by Emerald, Miles did the conversion and he had a map he put in, then I had it tweaked by some dodgy company in Reading and then after blowing that engine up it was re-mapped with a new engine by Torque of the Devil.

I really don't think you can go too much by what power it makes on the RR, they are all so different you can't really compare - really need to do a RR day and take them all down at the same time, now that could be interesting

i agree. so many different rr's bound to be varying accuracy

Andy, how much do TOTD charge for mapping? I think I'm definitely going there when I have my bodies on.

 

As for power, mine made 183bhp ATF on Newman PH2 cams and a custom 2.5" exhaust system, but then mine is 100cc down.

off the top of my head, it was 191 (I was with her when she got it mapped).
