This is looking really good. This was a great thread to read, really informative especially all the wiring bits. Really useful as I'm also doing a GTI6 conversion on my car. Looking forward to seeing this when it's done.

what a fantastic rebuild! after doing the bodywork to that standard i would be tempted to keep it original and stick an 8 valve back in ( i am more a restorer than modifier lol! ) but having said that if you have another shell and an engine and loom all ready to fit i bet you wouldnt find it hard to source the parts required to build an mi 16 with the rest of the silver donor? i am considering doing just that to a car thats already been messed with as there are plenty around and then i could have the best of both worlds ( a fully restored original and an updated fast daily driver ) your body work looks amazing i should get you to quote me on a full strip paint and rebuild on my car lol! i look forward to seeing what you end up doing with this car! no matter what choice you make it will be stunning i am sure and above all keep another 205 gti on the road :)

Decided to ditch the GTI-6 Engine idea and stick with the 1.9 8V engine instead.

Mainly due to keeping it original and i wont be driving it like it would want to be.

need someone to change the title to 'Nickaliath's 205 GTI Overhaul' :)

Are you using the Gti6 downpipe?????

It will need reangling to match manifold if you are wink.gif

Just a thought when you said manifold to downpipe fixings snapped,as the sealing ring does not sit straight if downpipe not reangled, and puts too much pressure on fixings wink.gif

Another thing, did you buy a gen Pug fixing kit?????I didn't blush.gif and I've since found out the gen Pug kit comes with three diffrent length bolts blink.gif

Mines nearly finished now, just exhaust centre section to be made up to mate Gti6 de-cat pipe to my Magnex back box, then can see what she goes like cool.gif

sorry to interrupt but does anyone know where i can buy one of the peugeot sport badge on the inlet manifold??
