Bad News Regarding Peugeot Rear Beam Bearings

Recommended Posts

pug_ham

Just a thought, has anyone tried getting these bearings / bushes from Citroen recently?

They might have a stock of the preferred Nadella ones.

I did a bit of searching & have come up with a few numbers to try just to see if we can find a source for the better spec bearings that Pug seem to have stopped suppllying;

AHR International St Albans.

you can get the proper ones from GSF, I bought some the other day, they're nadella and are the correct part no's, just not in Peugeot bags! And I paid 5.22 each inc VAT (they gave me trade price)

You can never tell what your going to get from GSF, The last 2 bearings (Wheel one;s mind) where 1 OE part and 1 poor quality bearing which sounded worn out just fitting it

Luck of the draw

Thats why I'd prefer to try & find a definate source for the proper spec bearings, I'll try GSF but as I either need to have them delivered or sent to my local branch I'd never know what I'm getting until its possibly to late.

I agree Graham. I was lucky they had one in stock, so I checked it and it was the right one, but they had 100 in stock at the Birmingham branch. I didn't buy them all, there are some left ;)

You could also call Birmingham (main office) and ask them to check what manufacturer is written on the bearing first.

I have tried a few bearing stockists and come up with blanks for the nadella part. At £5.22 each from GSF it's not worth the time to look so long as they have stock.

I already thought about doing that but just not had chance to do it today. First thing tomorrow though....

Thats not good news that you haven't been able to source any Nadella stockists but I'll try a few places as even though GSF have them in stock, they are n't an infinite supply so a second (or third) source for them is alway nice to have.

I'd like to know the contents of the box in Damirs picture though as during my searching the SNR factory in Lyon was one of the many places shown on the Nadella website & its possible we could get a kit with them both in & maybe the seals which looking through the website he linked to states them to be Suspension arm kits KS559.00 which are used right through the 306 range as well but there is a different one for the 306 N5 models KS559.08.

as regards the kit when i was at GSF he showed me their screen and they had a listing for a complete rebuild kit but apparently they don't stock/supply it. But obviously it is available as a kit from somewhere.

Peugeot and Citroen do it as a kit, 2x bearings and a seal.

Called 2 Citroen dealers today..... both zero stock. Didn't order any cause i think they will get the new batch also.

Called the third Citroen dealer, they had only one in stock...... and it was the Nadella bearing yes yes yes :), going to collect it tomorrow.

This e-mail was send to me today from GSF. The only thing what's holding me back to order from them is the 25 GBP carriage cost.

Hi Sergio,

Thank you for replying my e-mail.

Is it possible that the plastic bag is labelled Sasic and the bearing itself is made by Nadella(France) with p/n: DB47260EE?

Hope to hear from you.

Thanks, regards.

Hi,

I've got a question about the rear arm bearing-external with GSF p/n: N42354.

If yes, i wanne order 1.

Thanks, regards

Sorry, forgot that bit :rolleyes:5132 62 £16.67.

They were in the newer Black and white cardboard boxes, only fitted one set and it was before this was mentioned so I didn't take any notice of the number of rollers in each bearing.

I did notice some were a different brand, might have been the ones that were taken out though as it was a while ago.

TBH WP I think you'd notice if it was one of the newer bearings, they look very different

Just a (another) thought, we seem to have focused on the outer bearings but are GSF selling the Nadella inner ones as well does anyone know?

I'm going to phone the Birmingham branch soon so I'll ask them but it'd be nice to know before I order some.

yes they are, I bought 22 from them last week, mix of inner and outer and all Nadella.

Thats odd, I rang them & the guy on the phone said they had a few in stock but they definately weren't the Nadella bearings, but then his first reaction was "They are miles away at the back of the warehouse" so I suspect it was just because he cba to go check.

Fancy going back & getting me some of them both Phil? :)

if you get a woman at the reading brach hang up and try again....

I tried to get her to look at the bearing for me but she insisted it was made by Sasic, and that nothing was marked on the bearing itself.

Have ordered a complete set so will go have a look myself ;)

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad new BUT. . . .. . .

I looked through my bag of 22 bearings I got from them last week and all is not as it appears. I thought (having checked one of each type on purchase) that they were all Nadella, that’s not the case.

I have:-

Torrington

Nadella

INA

Timken

I had 3 of the inner bearings which were of the later dealer type with fewer rollers, I think these were INA ones.

Indeed some are in SASIC bags, some are in plain bags. SASIC are a french company supplying them by the look of it

I can confirm this Sasic business. Just got a pair of inner and outer from GSF.

The larger bearing is Nadella with stamped part number DB 47260EE GSF part number N42352

The smaller bearing is Torington stamped part number DB 47937EE GSF part number N42354

4 bearings cost me £23.46 all supplied in Sasic bags.

Numbers on the Sasic bags: Large - 1325495 Small - 1315455

Hope you all have some luck with GSF.

Cheers.

Henry.

So are these GSF bearings all being supplied with the correct amount of needle rollers for the larger outer pair? Im not bothered about the inners as there is less load on them, but the outers are crucial and im not prepared to use the Pug supplied ones anymore.

I picked up some today but the larger bearing is Torrington (DB 47260EE) the smaller one Nadella (DB 47937EE)?

Where the bearings Peugeot used to supply both made by Nadella and if so will the Torrington be any good?

Have they got the full compliment of needle rollers then?

the Torrington, Nadella and Timken outer ones i bought were all the same, ie same dimensions of the needles. Quality wise I'd probably hesitate and say the torrington and timken ones looked better than the Nadella ones. The INA inner ones I got from GSF were the poorer (smaller and fewer needles) variants. I can't be 100% but pretty sure there weren't any INA outer ones from there.

taylorspug, the ones I bought were all the better type as per the photos near the beginning of the thread. Minimal spacing between rollers and more of them.
