which materials u used?

 

Mostly various paints from Frosts, eg aluminium paint. Rubber dye for all the hoses etc and then lots and lots of cleaning of everything before it was assembled! (most of it is catalogued in my project thread in my signature below ˅˅)

I had a guy called Barry Scott come to work the other week to look at repairing a compressor! I s*it you not! I think he had heard the "Aren't you the Cillit Bang guy" line before though....

This is my 205 which ive had for 3 months but only been able to drive 2 weeks but absoltely love her , i know ive changed her and still alot more to come , i apprishiate some will dislike and thats fine had some great comments from around my parts so far , just hope some like her , 1990 1.9gti

I'd like to change mine haha and no had some major issues with insurance but I'm hoping to change companies to one that are happy with mods so I'm hoping before lakes trip , graham has kindly offered to help sort my rear beam ( light overhaul and lower) and fit fronts for me

Chris-gti, how did you solve the wheel rubbing on the fuel filler pipe with yours being so low? Im looking to fabricate a different shape pipe for mine, but wondered if there was an alternative way of getting round the issue?

Never had a problem with it rubbing to be honest. Not sure if it's anything to do with the slightly wider drums i have fitted (still on the 1600 beam and i have no idea what they are off).

The bump stops being present eliminates the issue - I would guess that as a minimum your drivers side one is missing, which allows the suspension sufficient travel for the tyre to hit the fuel filler pipe. With the bump stop present (and not heavily cut down) the suspension arm hits the bump stop before the tyre hits the fuel filler pipe.

 

Of course, the problem with running significantly lower and having bump stops is that you run out of suspension travel with alarming regularity, and that's far from ideal from either a comfort or roadholding point of view. You can cut them down a bit to gain more travel, but too much and you'll have the tyre hitting the fuel filler.
