  1. I am a huge idiot. Pressure washed my engine last night to get car ready for an inspection today. I never made it to that appointment. Wouldn't start up last night. let it dry overnight. eeeeeventually got it started this morning. decided to take it on a blast on the autobahn to "dry it out". engine cut out after 5 minutes on the highway. had to call a tow back to the garage. been working on it all day and nearly in tears. as far as I can tell, the problem is no spark. starter motor spins. i can smell fuel. air hoses are dry and no leaks. tested for spark and none from HT leads or king lead. getting power to plug at ignition amp. and power to brown plug at coil (but at only 1 pin?). at this point i'm thinking i need to replace ignition amplifier, ignition coil, and maybe HT leads and plugs even. at wits end. please help. any ideas or suggestions welcome. thanks.
  2. Hi lads, new to the site as i need some help with a 205 CTi. I've searched through the forum for about a week now for answers but cant fine a cure, i'm hoping you can help. Not had the car long. It had an intermittent starting problem and when tested it had no spark at the plugs. When it started it would run all day (as long as it wasn't turned off), it pulled well and no misfires. This went on for about a week but now its dead. I've changed the coil and module. The cap and arm are clean and the leads are ok too. I've been through the wiring loom with the Haynes manual and i'm now at a loss. I'm thinking the new coil is faulty. When cranking it over, all 4 wires to the coil are positive, Is this correct? Any help would be great as with this heat wave coming it would be nice to get out in it. Thanks in advance, Mark
