Hi all.
My 1989 1.6 GTI devoloped a slipping clutch a few weeks ago.
Especially underload at slower speeds on an incline.
Be1 gearbox.
I was fully sure I'd have to fork out for a new clutch.
Searched around on this site and discovered an old topic discussing this issue.
It stated that if clutch cable was loosened it could remedy the problem. If overtightened it would be similar to keeping pressure on the pedal.
I loosened the clutch cable and all is good again.
This site is a fantastic source of information.
Thanks all.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas.
Stephen.
