  1. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of what faults/sensor problems would cause the k-light to flicker on and off? Basically mine comes on at around 5k revs at which point the car hesitates horrendously, other than that the car is ok. Unfortunately I don't have a diagnostic port on the loom so I can't read any fault codes. So far I've changed the folowing: Fuel filter & pump - pressure reads a consistent 3 bars Coils & plugs Injectors - cleaned & tested MAP sensor Cam & crank sensors Exhaust system All of the above has made no difference whatsoever. The only thing I can think is to get the loom tested to make sure there are no electrical breaks within it, but it anyone can confirm what issues would cause the k light to come on that would be useful. thanks
  2. Hi, I am currently converting my 205 to gti-6 power, I have bought a T reg 306 as a donor which is currently sat outside, the engine is in the 205 and today we tried to start it. The engine ran perfectly before I took it out and I did the immobiliser unlock by un plugging it whilst it was running but I think I cocked it up by plugging it back in with the transponder still connected. Seeing as I still have the 306 I tried connecting the transponder and key induction coil to the ecu in an attempt to get it to start, it didn't. The questions I have are, has anyone successfully re used the transponder set up in a 205? And does anyone have wiring diagrams for the wiring on the interior of the car relating to the immobiliser? Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for the long post.
  3. Hi all, I've been pondering raising the ride height back to standard, but with the GTI-6 engine am wondering what my best options are. I've found in these forums that custom springs are a possibility, even down to exact specs from another forum member here who's done so, can't remember the name. However, I'm not sure I'm up for paying quite a bit for what are standard springs, albeit for the heavier engine. What's the general drop if I was to get standard 205 springs in comparison? I hear gravel springs are also standard height, so that might be an option for the future should I want to firm up dampers too, without the need for a custom order. There's also the issue of raising the rear. I've no confidence in trying this myself, and given the last time the beam was looked at was circa 2005 (R.Mountjoy receipt) I suspect the best option is to get it refurbished and specify standard ride height. If I was being foolish and taking a risk, how much would it cost to get a garage to raise it back to standard? Standard height and poundage would result in pretty much a standard setup, as I believe I have B4 Bilsteins front and K6 on the rear, so that once other things get replaced (drop links, wishbones, etc.) I'll hopefully have a decent benchmark to continue from. Thanks all!
