Oil Pressure Goes Up When I Turn On Lights

Recommended Posts

tagy

I have noticed in my 205 gti-6 that when you turn on the side lights the oil pressure & coolant temperature gauges go up a bit. Then when I turn on the headlights they jump up about 1-2 segments.

Also with the engine off and the key in position 2 the hum of the fuel pump changes slightly when I turn on the lights. :D

Has anyone experienced this before? I am going to investigate next weekend, I think it may be something to with how the car is earthed?

Id start with earths myself. Connections to and from effected items if theres no obvious earth issues.

Unless someone comes along and says this is a common wiring fault when the conversion is done ?

When I read the title to this topic, i thought 'bad earth'

I would start with cleaning up the earthing block for the headlights.

Well the gauge problem i can most certainly say is an earth fault, and the hum from the pump changing when engine is off is due to the sudden drain on the battery when you put the lights on.
