Brakes Solid And Stuck On

Recommended Posts

weejimmy

306 td here but close enough,

the front brakes are sticking on and the peddel is rock solid,

if it was just the solid pedal i would think servo

or if it was just the sticking brakes (which release when i open brake nipple) i would have thought master cylinder.

but both at same time?? any ideas whats wrong?

its lashing down with rain/wind so rather narrow my otions down in my room where its warm and dry than go trial and error outside :D

Had a new master cylinder on it at all, or took it off for anything?

Sounds very much like there's not enough clearance between the servo pushrod and the M/C

Tom Fenton

Master cylinder failed and not returning is my bet, seen a couple of cars with this now, if you take the master cylinder off you will find it stuck halfway in and sticky, and won't therefore return properly itself.
