GTI6 engines do seem to vary massively between 'good' and 'bad'. However a 16v 205 should walk away from even the quickest standard 306. With an inlet cam the 205 should be looking for mid to low 14s quarter mile, and from what ive heard will push a low boost s/c 306 up the road.

 

 

 

not the case if you can't get it to pull properly until 5k lol have to wait to reel them in :D

good job jengis, if its made a big improvement over 1.6 then job done. Power is only a function of budget and although would be interesting to see a RR graph it still wouldn't be conclusive due to differences in RR. 100bhp atw would be good to aim for and better than probably all 1.98vs that havn't had a rebuild :D

 

11 secs 60-100 you reckon? I'm gonna give that a go (at castle combe race circuit) and see what kinda time my car does for comparison. Although its only as accurate as each speedo, prolly gonna be more like 58-95 but its close enough.
