206 Gti [180 Hp ] Motor Into A 205 ?

Has anybody tried this as yet? I'm looking at a new project and thought i may try this.

Can anybody shed any light on this conversion.

I looked into this a while back for my 205 rally car but decided it a bad idea for me anyways. Good things 180 bhp standard if left on standard injection. Bad things engine sits more upright so engine in off yop of my head a inch lower but prob ok for a road car, not a rally car. If you fit carbs you loose the variable valve timing. If you fit throttle boddies which I wanted too I still think you have to remove the variable valve timing whic his hydrolic & needs oil ways blocked up I think. I think for a road car It might be a good project, longmans were very helpfull about the engine side of things, west mids motorsport also very good info. My mate is building a 206 rally car with a 180 engine & he wants to fit carbs or throttle boddies so if anyone has a ecu base map or info he would appreciate info.
