Hoping Of A Rebuild With Parts Lying Around

1.9 engine

lightened and balanced crank and flywheel

lightened rods and pistons

double valve springs

1.6 gearbox

 

additional

 

ECU and camshaft.

 

Any ideas how to swap stuff around ....... and would a good working 1.6 brake setup be enough ?

What exactly are you looking at swapping, 1.6 to 1.9?

 

The parts listed above all sound fine for this use if thats what your asking.

 

A good set of 1.6 GTi brakes will be fine, they are the same size as the 1.9 brake discs & if the Bendix calipers are in fine fettle they'll be more than enough. I ran the 1.6 Bendix stuff on my 1.9 track car without any problems & only swapped due to fitting 309 front wishbones & driveshafts.

Yes swapping to a 1.9 ....... to get some extra crunch out of it think all i have to change besides that is the afm right ?

You won't need double valve springs for an otherwise straight swap for the bnits listed above unless you are fitting some high spec cam but the correct 1.9 injectors & AFM are all worth swapping at the same time.
