Just Had My Shafts Pressed Into Arms And I Have A Quick Question

Recommended Posts

yorkshirekowboy

hi,

just been reading the rebuild beam guide by wurzel, and he mentions how the shafts from the face of the arm should be pressed in 5mm or so, and mentions how some are flush, i have measured mine and mine are like 2mm or so. will that affect the foam seal between the arb bracket and seals to the arm, ie let in water etc.

picture below of mine

thanks

2mm is about right, 5m is too much and i have never seen any that are flush. All th oens i have seen in the past have been about 2 or 3mm

haynes Manual IIRC specifies 2mm, all the one's I've done so far have been set to that.

thats good then, they are pushed in till that start of the arm hole tappers. about 2mm /3mm so looking at my piccy does it look about right? u can see in my picture where the hole edge has a tappered/angled edge, thats where i have pushed them to or there abouts
