Oil Temp Low?

where did the pic of the gauges with the numbers come from?

 

Are they official readings?

 

I cant believe that 150 deg oil temps are not deemed dangerous and the red light looks like 160 or more.

Some instrument clusters actually have the numbers on them, but the majority do not.

Well, guess what, upon looking at the hoses today (as one failed and i thought i'd check the rest!) the water pipes to the heat exchanger are not connected They are just looped!?

 

Any idea why the f*** anyone would want to do that? Unless the cooler is mixing oil/water which i doubt as surely the oil would leak out if there were an issues there?
