the only way is a wider track. Different offset wheels may help but that may not be enough.

Personally as much fun as the gearbox was, it wasent great enough when compared to a 1.9box with a lower final drive. It weighs a lot and quite frankly was a complete ballache to fit.

yes fitting a 6 box to a 205 or 309 you will need to use a gti6 inner cup on the 205 or 309 shaft

I didn't have to but I suspect it was because I fitted a Quaife?

Exactly right, my Xsara VTS box didnt need any driveshaft mods to fit, but ive seen others that weep gearbox oil as the shaft doesnt locate properly.
