Well I can say it's not a Gripper or Tran X, Looks abit like the AP one from memory but they don;t do them anymore, But anyone who rebuilds them should be able to sort it out no problems at all

Doesn't look like a TransX diff to me, the short side is nothing like mine. TransX diffs have their logo stamped on them

Not all TranX diffs have there logo stamped on them. My old one would be 4 years old now, and was described as the 'Older version' from the receptionist of TranX from when i phoned up, but could confirm what it is was from hte serial number from when i phoned up.

But as Miles said, looks nothing like the Kaaz + TranX diffs that i've used/fitted :D

Well we thought it could be a zf diff but they are £1200. and the rebuild plates are £50 each or something. AB motorsport sell all the parts for them.

There are also no markings on the diff other than the one i took a photo of

The 14 x 62 is stamped on the crownwheel which is bolted to the diff, shows its a 4.4FD & isn't any help in finding the manufacturer of the diff.

i thought the ZF diff needed special shafts? i was under the impression the gearbox ends were different; were they just uprated items?

Peugeot Sport did two diffs, one that took standard shafts, the other took the 'special' shafts. Looks the same as my old one.

I thought 205/309 shafts fit GTI 6 box fine with no modding to them ?

The gearbox end of the driveshaft is shorter on the later Be3 gearboxes from the 405, 306 etc so I don't think they do.

So will i need to modifi my 309 GTI shafts in my 205 to fit the 6 box?

By the way, is there any way i can have better turn circle in 205 with 6 box ?

Iv search alot and confused by differant steering racks etc.

cheers
