Valve Springs And Camshaft

hey guys

 

can somebody tell me how to remove valve springs,

 

somebody gave me a valve spring compressor the one that looks abit like a g clamp but i dont really no how to use it :lol:

 

also i have taken the cam off and i went to put it back on after i couldnt be arsed to take even more things of and get confused...and it wouldnt seat right one of the lobes was always causing it to sit to high....

 

sorry for stupid questions iv just got an engine for really cheap and im basically doing a full rebuild to learn everything

You need to put the valve compressors over the head so one end is against the valve head and other is acting against the collar on the spring. Tighten the compressors, remove the small collets using a magnetic screwdriver or similar and decompress the springs carefully. Then remove the spring(s)
