Recommended Posts

306-turbo-tom

before someone says use the search i have and it just comes up with about 50 pages off random stuff.

well i have just got my engine into my 306 and know i need to wire it up. but where do i start. the engine came out off a 605. is there any diagrams for the 605 loom? ive also looked in my 306 manual to see if it would tell me wot the pinouts on the connector where the loom connects to so i can match them up with the enigine loom but it doesnt have any info on that.

has anyone got a pinout diagram for the 306 loom

basically where shall i start. and also wot pin on the ecu do i need a live to to make it work.

any help would be great.

Rob_turbo has done this exact thing mate, think it was in the projects section so if you have a scout round there he may have got wiring info you need.

Sorry cannot help on the 306 side of things!

What was the engine code on your 306 though? you may find wiring diagrams for it here : http://peugeot.mainspot.net/wiring_diagram.shtml

You need a switched live to pin 2 or 3 on the brown relay plug, there will probably only be one of the 2 pins that has a wire going to it, if that's pin 3 on yours then yes, you need a switched live there. Pin 27 is switched live on a non keypad ecu, if your ecu is locked and had a keypad then you either need to connect this to the keypad or get your ecu unlocked then connect a switched live to it, I have also heard that you can bypass the keypad by putting a switched live to pin 27 even if it's locked, but I've never tried this myself.

The connection you seem to have missed (or at least not mentioned) is you need a constant live to pin 18 of the ecu.

If you need any more help with the wiring drop me a pm, I've done a few of these now so can probably help with most of your wiring problems!

HTH,

Rob

thanks i will try a live to pin 18 cause i dont think i have connect this, and see if that helps, i know my engine came with a box off bit and there was a keypad in there but this would be useless anyway as i dont have the code, also i tought u wouldnt need the keypad on the earlier engines, eg. 605 turbo engine

just tryed still no luck i did have wire 18 of the ecu on a contast live. i put a volt meter on fuel pump wire and im not getting nothing, does this mean my ecu isnt working, i can hear the brown plug clicking when i turn the key but i dont seem to be getting a spark, is there anyway to check if my ecu is locked or not. and also the plug for the ecu, there is a long wire with a green plug on it wat is this for,

The only way I know to see if the ecu is locked is to try it on a running engine, for that you will obviously need access to a non keypad 2.0 turbo car.

The green plug near the ecu is the diagnostic connector, it's just used for reading fault codes and isn't supposed to be connected to anything. Is the crankshaft sensor both plugged in and fitted in the hole on the gearbox properly? Do you have an inertia switch (or a plug for one), this might have tripped, cutting the fuel. Other than that all I can think is a locked ecu.
