White 1.9 Speedlines

Recommended Posts

Subby

I was always in the mindset that my mi16 was going to look 100% standard from the outside, minus some lowering/brakes etc.

But this look is really growing on me, and wondered whether it would be worthwhile, as im about to get a 2nd set of speedlines refurbed.

Just wanted other opinions !

You all like white now as they look nice fresh and clean, they will not stay like that for a long, 1 - 2 hours of good breaking will make them nice and dirrtyy :D

I will go for standard colour after refurbishment, it will make them nice chrome shiny. I did that with mine and I'm not regreting. In those few shiny days they will be shiny as monkey ass, you will not get that effect with white alloys.

cheers mike

I personally do not like the 205 1900 wheels in any colour other than the standard silver, I'm not even especially keen on the goodwood wheels.

But its your car, so if you like white wheels then have them painted white!

I like the white wheels. Keep them polished and waxed up, and when they do get dirty, you'll be able to clean the dust off easily

I wax mine but ds3000's still create soo much hot brake dust that it bites into the finish. If i spend a hour on eacy wheel with T cut/wax it uually brings them up like new but it is a bit tiresome.

I have white wheels and yes they do get dirty, but never take too long to sort out.

When you've finished the painting process really polish them up with a good quality polish and wax. Then apply three coats of 'Poorboys' wheel sealant.

It will not stop the brake dust build up but does stop it realy sticking.....

Personally I don't like white speedlines on the darker coloured cars, they just stand out too much, but I do know plenty of people who are big fans, it's not so bad when they have a bit of brake dust on them

With regards to the brake dust issue, has anybody seen those plastic dishes that fit inside the wheel in front of the disc? Are they any good? Will they fit a 205?

The downside to them is with an open alloy you can't see the disc or caliper, on the Speedlines its not too much of an problem as I see it.

Im going to go for white.

Purely as ive got a set of standard colour speedlines already refurbed for my 8v gti, so ill have both to choose from.
