hello all,

please see the below picture regarding the wiring on a weber TPS. i have two questions.

1)im not sure what way round the wiring is on it.... ive havent got the diagram to hand. but two of the wires go back to the e.c.u and the third wire is an earth.

2) where can i get a plug from to connect the wiring to the TPS?? any cars in particular?

Thanks in advance

I will have a look for you tomorrow. I too have been down this route. I thing you will find webcon will sell you a plug, if not then im sure (ish) its the same a some standard pug connectors, maybe on the origional wireing loom?

I will be in touch.

Matt

not a brilliant pic but it looks like just a 3 pin JPT plug, you can get them from http://www.simtekuk.co.uk/ or http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu

typical TPS wiring IIRC is outer two pins (e.g. pins 1 and 3) are 0v (earth) and 5v (power from ECU), and then the middle pin (e.g. pin 2) is the signal that changes with angle of the TPS.

Sorry - bit late to the party :)

Welshpug is typically correct, but I have seen the end and centre connections being the 0v and 5v and the (other) end being the signal.

It's simple to check - use a multimeter set to resistance....the 0v and 5v connections will have a constant resistance between them, irrespective of the TPS position

Getting the 0v and 5v connections round the wrong way will cause no harm - so look at the MJLJ Load gauge in the configurator and if it says 100% when you're off the throtlle, then you got 'em the wrong way round!
