Pioneer Dvd Player

Hi I've just picked up a 2nd hand Pioneer in car DVD player.

I want the ability to play DVD and iPod movies while the car is moving. There is a wire that goes to the handbrake swich to stop this happening.

Does anyone know if this would need a 12v or to be earthed?

I'm hoping to install this on the weekend.

IMO The handbrake makes an earth when it is on to complete the circuit whic in turn illuminates the lights so I would say to earth.

here's your online installation manual in PDF format. You'll see that it requires to be connected to the 12v side of you're handbrake switch. So if you ground this wire (handbrake on) then the screen will work.

Fancy a cup of tea? i'm away to put the kettle on?
