i was just wondering if i would notice anything buy using the cam out of my 1.9gti engine, its the 130bhp engine well thats what mine was rolling road'd at standard!

its got more lift and duration yes, but its also got a lot of overlap, so you'll end up pissing all you boost straight out the exhaust valves. hence the desire for the DKZ cam, which is very similar but with much less overlap.

well ok, i can source a dkz cam, could i swap my 1.9 am in a dkz engine and then he'll see results? as there pretty rare

im scrapping 3-4 heads and prob worth a quick check,

The RFX cam from the 306 xsi 8v is v similar to the DKZ and will do the same job.

Sadly for you I just sold mine!

the 1.9 cam is ideal for a turbo it's assymetrically ground and the overlap is on the inlet only so its ideal for turbo engine...

i am also using a 1.9gti engine completely standard with a turbo. still not had it rolling roaded yet but I would bet A LOT of money that it would easily produce a lot more power for same level of boost than a 2.0 with the standard turbo cam.

 

 

you only have to look at turbo cams to see overlap at tdc on inlet only is the answer if you want more power up top - take a look at www.catcams.be (unfortunately only works with Internet Explorer) and look at some of the wrx cams - look at lca on inlet and exhaust and also lift at tdc on inlet and exhaust. you will see contrary to popular opinion even some lift at tdc on exhaust is acceptable.
