Do I Stay Black Or Go For Silver?

Recommended Posts

Dan Ingram

My wheels are in need of redoing. After 12 months of going on and off the car and rolling around the yard there a bit chipped so I'm going to re paint them. Question is do I re do them in black so it looks like this

Or do I paint them silver as Peugeot intended?

I like the black as it goes with the colour scheme but they look a bit like steelies. The silver looks a lot cleaner though.

I can't decide. Please help.

Personally I prefer silver, makes the cars look more standard.

black with a red rim sir? ohh Wellers

If you go black they gotta be steel IMO, silver if they're alloy, especially the originals.

Id say that was a 30-40mm drop. Mines about 35 and looks similar.

Its 40mm Eibachs on the front and the backs dropped to match.

I'm liking the black with a red rim idea at the moment :)

I think it looks ace as is! :P It's still red but it at least looks good like that... :P

Seems just right, not insanely low and not too high, my white Mi should be similar when back on it's wheels!! :)

i was actually going to suggest black with red rim last night,

much more of an impact on a black car though:

I think I'm going to give the red lip a go. I can always re do them if I don't like it. Can't hurt to be a bit different.

As for the suspension, Its about the best set up for country lanes I've found. Its stiff enough that it doesn't wallow around but theres enough travel to soak up the bumps.

i suppose it depends on what image you want from the car. Colour co-ordinated or standard/sleeper???

I do like the black wheels, but i feel the red stripe will work better. Saying that, i also like the clean, crisp look of silver wheels too!

Do what i'm gonna do on my 309 and have a 2nd set, and then you can change them when you like etc!

the black red lip thing is on quite a few cars round here (wirral), and alot of them got it from moto GP. except they use coloured reflective tape (bit like the stuff on the side of a cop car or ambulance but in red or blue).

Yeah the black rims with red stripe. Although I always feel that a dark gray is better. With black it looks like there is no wheel at all. :)

Thats so 80's with the red stripe on the black car...i like it :)

Other than that though i'd go silver, come on Pacey, stick a picture of yours up to show how good silver wheels are!

just wait for the tyre fitter to chip your new wheels.

They look nice but prefer the std. silver imo.
