Fitting 309 Torsion Bar To 1.6 Rear Beam

Recommended Posts

Andy M1tchell

Hi

is it true that you can get away with just changing the rear torsion bar on a standard 205 gti 1.9 or 1.6 beam instead of changing the complete beam for a 309 gti rear beam?

cheers

nope, the 309 torsion bars are too long to fit a 205 beam

though from how you worded you actual topic rather than the title then yes, you can just change the torsion bars for thicker items, but not 309 length ones.

Thats ebay for you, all of load of cr*p sometimes and what people put on there descriptions is, well ..............

You cannot even re-spline the 309 ones as they are too small.
