I originally intended to go this exact route with my Rallye. The Dellorto's I had were DHLA40H (I think) and I too went for the TI Inlet Manifold.

When I took all the bits to get fitted (to a local engine specialist) I had a bit of a shock. The engine mount needed to be cut to accomodate the manifold and the specific Carbs I had were 'emission type'. I'd never heard of this myself, but it was explained to me that they were originally meant for a larger engine and would be pretty much impossoble to have them running well on a 1.4 TU.

In the end I opted for a pair of DCOEs and a Sandy/Colin inlet & engine mount.

ok thanks for that,i will find out what size they are, they came of a mates rs 2000 who said they never ran properly on his car and they were ment for smaller engine,i thought if ti motorsport made a inlet manifold for the tu engine they must be able to run on them, why didnt you get it re jetted? i was expecting to have to cut engine mount anyway, cheers gus

I haven't got a clue when it comes to these carbs myself, and I just went on the advice of the garage (perhaps rather naively) who fitted them and ultimately ended up flogging me a pair of their Webers... :)

going from my car, theres not much room down the back of the engine where the servo sits, so you will want something like a pipercross foam filter to sit across them. you wont be able to get an airbox down the back of there.

it depends which inlet the TI manifold is made for. the smaller inlet head from say the 1.4 rallye or 1.4 xs, or for the 1.3 rallye / 106 1.3 rallye. ( i forget how you label the cylinder heads.) You can pretty much tell by looking at the stud pattern which head its for.

you also need to figure on how badly you have to cut the engine mount away. i had to cut off a lot of the alloy arm, in order to get my inlet manifold to fit. a bit of a bodge really.

The TI manifold is for the 1.4 Rallye/XS head. As for the engine mount, TI seemed to think that the amount you need to cut away wouldn't be a problem (well the would say that, I guess...), whereas others who saw it later weren't so convinced.

The top 2 pics here: http://www.goodhand.co.uk/rallye/missing-images.html show the manifold fitted, together with a pic of the engine mount freshley cut!
