Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge

Recommended Posts

driversdomainuk

Hi

I am needing an accurate mechanical oil pressure gauge as, with most of the dials on my 18 yr 205 are understandably f***ed.

Where is the oil pressure sensor on the block (on Mi engine) and do most gauges from DT coem complete, so I dont have to buy other things to instal it.

PS - this is what I am considering buying:

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/Pro...code=MOCOPG100W

Need anything else?

Also does anyone know if the "stop" light, oil pressure gaurge and coolant temp gauge work together or seperate? as the coolent gauge jumps from cold to hot in less than a second quite often, and is clearly faulty. wonder if this is the reason why

thanks

it's to the RHS of the alternator on an Mi16 block. Two take offs, LHS is the oil pressure switch and the RHS is the oil pressure sender. They're both into the same gallery obviously but the sender is M10 x 1.0 You need an adaptor for certain to fit this.

thanks - I am thinking now as the stop light also comes on it is indeed and low oil pressure issue (comes on when braking on track from 90mph to 30 in 3rd gear.)

Think my money could be invested better in perhaps a new oil pump spring or oil pump!

Hi Guys,

I have been told by DT I also need this adaptor:

http://www.demon-tweeks.com/products/Produ...mp;pcode=LMA054

I guess I will need the M10X1.0 size - can someone please confirm (and the above adaptor is correct) - should be as DT cust.service told me so.

cheers

definately M10x1.0 for the oil pressure sender in my alloy Mi16 block.

You can get them on ebay. For instance I was looking at 1/8bsp to M10x1.0 here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=016

Depends what you need on the other end tho, the 054 part is M16x1.5 which is the fitting to the oil pressure switch take off

Can someone confirm the thread size of the oil pressure warning light sender please?

I plan to fit a gauge and big-arse warning light to mine from new senders, and need to tee off both holes for each.

Pressure Sender is M10x1?

Warning Light Sender M16x1.5?

see if you can get a braided hose, im sure demon tweeks do them as the standard copper line you get with mine (tim gauge) split on the back, they arent very strong.
