The set up depends on allot of things, Tyres and make, Spring rates and you, Might be worth getting the Skip brown kit for the back and getting back to a 205 beam

XMR12 rose joints?

I'd grab some seals for those if I were you.

I'd fit covers if I were you, I used a lot of those exact joints and while they're fine under the light loads I normally use (the PTFE will absorb some muck at low loads), I'd be keeping the muck out on a wishbone because the far higher stresses will cause the ball to grind it into the race before the liner can absorb it.

The joints are cheap though so your choice!

nice bits ;), but isn't 185 lbs a bit soft for track work? B)

i noticed a few people bought them,

but it's not a major issue to change them and it cheaps.

what would recommend???

200? or 225? or am i still to soft?

I run 300lb and James R used to run 285lb.

I have no complaints over my set up, although as you say, it is quite cheap to change them.

I know it's a heavier car, but Martin (CRF450) is going to 575lb front springs on his 306 track car (1000kg)

My brother used 280lb on a 205 rallye and is was undersprung for track work.

It's relative to many factors, unsprung weight, rear spring rate, ARBs, geometry, tyre type. More than 300lb/inch (or more than 175lb/inch with standard rear bars) on the front of a typical 205, for any purpose to me, is too much. I've driven some appallingly over sprung cars that people thought were good, but I've probably had my standards raised a bit by the best I've driven. A well set up car will be compliant and reap the benefit of progressive and predictable grip in all conditions. Going harder to suit smooth/dry surfaces will bring little benefit for a big trade off in poorer weather/surface conditions.

Surely they can make a smaller pin if you ask them?

It'll only be a machined EN24 or similar pin anyway I would have thought?

Hmm I bought some of these but there was no mention of having to drill the hub out, I will ask for confirmation on the buying thread

as i've not fitted mine,

kate i assume from this you are talking about he old one's that never fitted with std arb?

if yes, then there was no need to say it :)

as you would known these as the new style which fit fine ;)

and if you look at my post they have been fitted, with ZERO issues with no mods

i really wish peoople would think before they type and then start a panic, and stupid rumors (not a dig at you kate ;) )

i bought a set of "rose jointed track rod ends" from comp brake and tried to fit them to my 1.9 hubs, they would not fit i had a lot of trouble and was told i would have to drill them out so sent them back (still havent got my money back for them thou!)

i was not aware of any "old type" or "new type" and obviously if i had known that yours were different then I would not have said it because as you say they are different

please excuse me for not knowing that they changed them since i tried to fit them - noone told me and i had no reason to know - i was trying to help by forewarning the problem i personally had with mine

sorry if i offended by trying to help! :)
