Not many times that you get a full un-interupted resto pic from start to finish. Well some of you may remember this car but as i don't post too often it's been a while since it's been in this forum!

I've had this car 9 years now and ran it as my every day car for about 5. After about 4 yrs i replaced the engine with a fully rebuilt MI16 courtesy of Ecosse. The start pics are from the time i stopped using the car as i had driveshaft / misfiring problems after doing approx 10k on the new engine. As you can see i changed the colour - why? easy to keep clean and doesn't scratch! Apart from some of the major mechanical work i have done the lot myself - but as for the completion of the jenvey and ECU mapping i put my thanks out to Matt and Diane and the crew at Eccosse who really have helped my with putting the car back on the road taxed and Mot'd for the first time since yeaterday.

I was going to use the car as a track / hill climb sprint car but as i have a job in Norway the car is off very soon as a every day chariot there hence no wild cam etc!

Spec as follows

Fully rebuilt early spec MI16

Fully rebuilt 1.9 gearbox / 1.6 crown wheel and pinion

Jenvey throttle bodies

Emerald ECU

Piper cams vernier pulley

Short shift kit

OMP cage

Fully resto interior (a lot of e-bay purchases!)

Koni shocks and dampers -20mm

rebuilt rear beam

GTI-6 front calipers and disks

all new bushes / drive shafts

NOS passenger and drivers doors

NOS front wing

NOS Bumpers and inserts

NOS Seals

Goodyear Eagle F1's all round

Power data

182BHP at 7360 rpm

140 lbf-ft at 5810 rpm

Been a couple of teething problems but to be expected considering that it hasn't been run for 4 years and very suprised i have actualy managed to get rid of a few squeeks and rattles. The car feels well strong and pulls like atrain above 4k (does need reving!) all in all very chuffed! The view whilst out of the garage!

Thanks for all the good complements :)

Reverie air box, 45mm trumpets from memory - (the shorter jobbies) and carbon KN remote air filter - sits low down at spolier height. A lot of farting around to get to this point!

Ans. to questions - Silver yes - Cage a pain - not at all! - in fact i'm sure it stiffens the car up so less squeeks! With the power IMO i feel safer than 2mm thin panels around me!
