Funnel In Oil Filler Neck Cracked

The internal funnel within the oil filler neck has broken in several places, I've managed to get all the pieces out.

 

It's come out quite easily revealing the corroding gauze below (covered in mayo of course). Can the funnel and gauze be purchased separately or is it ok to run the car without these items.

 

I'm doing a track day in 4 weeks so I want it running properly.

I don't think they can be purchased seperately as its all one assembly from new for the filler neck.

 

I've run my car without the gauze in place without any problem but always had the funnel part fitted.
