intresting this topic as i too looked into modding my 1.9 8v with cam, carbs, head work, balancing, exhaust manifold etc, and its a couple of grand to make roughly the same power as a 16v. Id say your best bet is to look at differant insurance companys. I use Adrian Flux and cant rate them enough. £270 TPFT for a caged, bucketed, Mi16 on carbs with suspension and brake mods declaired. Im 24 and loving paying that each year!!
