205 Poor Screen Washers Washers

Recommended Posts

steve@cornwall

One thing that has always seemed below par on the 205 is the screen washers IMO. So today I raided the scrappy in an attempt to find a better solution.

I ended up with a pair of twin jet nozzles from a 306 and a couple of pairs of 405 arm- mounted spraybars. with assorted piping and t-connectors.

Having tried both I wondered "can I plumb both in? - I reckon the result "may" shift the seagull crap that often lands on the screen :(

I thought you may say that, Dan - There's a set here with your parcel shelf  ( Afraid you get the set without the proper Pug clips onto the wiper :( )

They were given to me with a tyre and alloy I bought - so the going rate is buck-shee :D

Baz - I was thinking of using 2 washer bottles, and 2 motors! 1 for the spray bars and 1 for the nozzles - fail- safe. Have even thought of using a de-icer in the spray-bar bottle, how's that for lazy?

Now imagine it filled with a fairy liquid solution

The player on the site is crap. I couldn't get it to work at first, but I kept refreshing and clicking on it randomly and eventually it worked.

I must have this...I simply must.:):)

Careful though: soon we'll be power crazy about washer jets and 'gallons of water per minute' specifications, all trying to out-do each other.

Made me chuckle. Brilliant.

Super Josh

I'm still happy with the 2002 model Saxo jets. Really cover the screen well

On the subject of excessive water consumption, are the early phase 1 water reservoirs that fit inside the passenger side wing, with just the filler spout protruding into the engine bay, any larger than the later ones? Considering that they had to supply both the front and rear screens. Could possibly fit one of those aswell as the later one to cope :)

My old Civic had a reservoir mounted down behind the bumper with a filler tube up above the chassis leg, and that was quite a big beast of a reservoir.

405 ones are also rather big.

but big size doesn't help much if you don't have enough space to fit it in .

At this rate we'll all be fitting tow-bars to tow water bowsers around with us!

It's not the size of it is it ladies?...........It's how much you can spray.
