D6b And Dkz Engines ?

Recommended Posts

Hi !

I was wandering wheres the difference in between 1.9 D6B and DKZ engines ? :D i know that DKZ engine has "mild" cam but is that all or is there something else like - different piston crowns , combustion chamber depth etc. ?

Why this DKZ engine has lower CR compared to D6B engine ?

Thanks ! :)

The pistons have a bigger dish to give 9.2:1. It has the same head.

Then the camshafts are the same ? :D

I have some data for valve lift and there says :

Intake valve lift : 11.3 D6B - 11.0 DKZ

Exhaust valve lift : 11.3 D6B - 11.0 DKZ

Anyway if i fit D6B pistons in DKZ engine it'll have same CR as D6B engine , or not ?

Thanks ! :)

No, as you said, the cam is different. They have the similar lift but less duration.

Yes, you could fit D6B pistons to bring the CR up to 9.6:1, but I'd just skim the head if the pistons/liners are in good shape. A skim of 1-1.2mm should give 10:1.
