Hole In My Head

its where the camshaft oil seal goes, on the timing belt end.

Will it still work? Can it be repaired or is it scrap.

thats normal, IIRC its just an oil drain for the seal :)

yep, and dont bang the seal all the way in, flush with the outside.

Well peugeot didn't do a very neat job of it! looks as if i've done it. And isn't the water jacket behind it?

Yep, I've been there too. Seen the hole, panicked, got straight on the forum and posted a topic just like this LOL!

 

Isn't it odd that something that was put there in production just looks like a hole resulting from a fractured/sheared part of the casting? I'll never stop finding amusement in the crazy french engineering!

yep i wonder how many "almost heart attacks" have been induced by it. Why not actually drill it? instead of punching it in with a punch of some description?
