Which Thickness Head Gasket Do I Need?

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

I am about to rebuild a 1.9 8v engine (B6D XU9) and my local motor factors has explained that there are two thickness of head gasket, 1.20 mm and 1.44mm, which should I get?

It is or will be a standard engine by the way.

Thanks

Jonny

Unless the head has been skimmed by quite a lot then I'd say go for the 1.2mm

there are 2 thicknesses - one is for heads that have been skimmed and one is for standard - so the first guy is the one who knows what he is talking about

Thanks Ash.

Note to self: keep my mouth shut unless I am absolutely sure about something, this will save me exposing my lack of knowledge.
