Removing The Rev Limiter

Recommended Posts

justinv

Hi, tried all the options in the treads that say how to remove the rev limiter from the std ecu but revs still cutting out at 5900 ~ 6000 rpm.

Anyone has an idea what it could be ?

Hi !

Ignition amplifier maybe  try some spare one (or new..)... and try with some other coil...

As for removing the rev limiter , it's just one resistor inside the ECU which you need to cut out .. :D but i wouldn't do that , id try first with another ignition amp. + coil ... (also clean the amplifier and dizzy connector free from rust and moisture ...)

If all this doesn't helps try with some other dizzy (it could be the dizzy also :() and adjust the ignition timing ..

std 1.9 should cut at 6200, 1.6 at 6600 IIRC, so you might have a rev counter discrepancy there, or an ignition system fault.

if its a standard engine there's no need to mess with the limiter.
