Wont Start, Timing Advanced Mi16

Recommended Posts

My car wont start,a alloy block Mi16 running original ecu and loom. It would seem the timing is too far advanced as the engine stops rotating abruptly when cranked. Obviously there is no adjustment on the distributor cap so whats the problem. This confuses me because if i remove the crank sensor from the gearbox it still does it. If i unplug the sensor it doesnt. I am trying another sensor tomorrow as all i can think of is that it has a weak or intermittant signal and the module see's too many tdc marks on the flywheel. I am using the original ignition amplifier would this be a problem? Any other thoughts please

crank sensor fault. Try testing it with a multi meter see if you get the expected results. I havent got my autodata on this pc or I could of give you the figures to look for.
