Quick Question - Do Peugeot And Ford...

Recommended Posts

pete1986

I have bought a cheap fiesta as a runaround but it has some chavy wheels that i want to change. I thought why not speedlines! Im sure i have seen a 205 with escort cossie wheels on...

Do peugeot and ford have the same wheel fitment?

the PCD of the bolts is the same at 108mm, but the centre bore of the wheels are different, I cant remember which is bigger.

So does that mean that ford wheels fit on peugeots but not vica versa?

no the ford centre bore is smaller than peugeot and usually the offset is quite a bit higher. but you can get spacers to correct both of these, then they fit :)

Cheers mate. Okay... so what size spacers would i need? Off-sets confuse the fcuk out of me

205 wheels will stick out a fair bit on a ford as they're et18. IIRC most ford wheels are around et30-40

so yeh, i'd have thought they won't fit too well as with centre bore adaptors the speedlines will be taken down to about et8 or so...

doh sorry i didn't read the thread properly! spacers are for fitting ford wheels to peugoets (silly me assuming this was a question about peugeots it being a peugeot forum! : ;) )

205 wheels will bolt straight to ford hubs yes, but they won't centre on the spigot properly unless you can find a spiogt ring to bring the centre bore down to the correct ID

and as oli says they'll stick out a fair way because the offset is lower than the ford stock offset (effectively the lower offset means the wheel mounts further away from the car)

i tried to put some speedlines on my escort

they went on but the studs weren't long enough so they wouldn't bolt up

I've seen 1900 speedlines on a MkIII fiasco before. BUT as the Pug wheel is flat face nuts you'll definately need a spigot ring to centre it properly. You could argue if it was conical seats it would be ok, not sure I would. You'll still need to sort the fastners out. Fiesta is nut and studs, pug is bolts. Studs certainly won't be long (as Pete as stated above)

oh well... il just get some ford steelies instead. Anything is better than the chavvy kerbed five spokes on there now!!
