Is the rear beam on a 1989 205 GTi a big problem if needs refurb? What need doing to it?

no big deal, if its not seized or cambered should just be a case of new shafts, bearings and seals

It needs a proper rebuild or replacment asap to make your car handle like it should.

 

Either way, seized or camber can cost up to £450 to fix depending on which & how bad it is when stripped down for refurbishment.
