It's underneith the steering column on the right mate. Held in with a few 7/8mm nuts!

Thanks for the quick reply Ben, Is it easy to remove? A case of undoing the nuts and disconnecting the wires? The wires pull through the bulkhead from the engine side do they?

It's easiest if you take the bit of dash covering the underside of the drivers compartment off, but that's pretty simple - it's a few screws (and it'll probably fall off if you look at it the wrong way anyway). The nuts are pretty simple to remove yeah, just lie in the footwell and you'll see them. After that there's a big plug that the ECU fits into, you need to pull back the metal lip on one side of it then the plug will pull straight out. After that drop the ECU down and it'll come out.

To get the engine loom out you can fit the wiring through the bulkhead if needed. There's a bung you need to remove and as well as the ECU plug there's two other plugs under the steering column which will need undoing (they're pretty obvious if you follow the wires with that piece of dash removed). Aside from that everything else that needs unplugging is on the engine bay side so just unplug and feed back around the engine til it's all free.

Thankyou Ben, very helpful. Sounds like a really simple job. It won't lock itself if i do something wrong will it?

Nope, 205s are pre-historic in most respects. There won't be a problem!
