SAMSMITH 0 Posted October 20, 2007 there is a 1986 1.6 gearbox in a local scrappies for £60. providing its good will it fit my 1990 1.6 gti? also did the n/s driveshaft today. turns out its the other side good thing i got it cheap cus of knowing people at local peugeot garage and kevin coopers so yeah will it fit as we arent sure Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

luggy 13 Posted October 21, 2007 Ive got a BE3 1.6 box on a 92 GTI you can have for £50. Its done 138K and I dont know what sort of condition the internals are in, recently bought it for my MI project. Box is still in the car, let me know because I can take it out for you next weekend. It was replaced as i took the whole engine, 'box subframe and p/s from a 1.9 GTI and swapped it as a lump!
