Lower The Oilpickup On Xu9j4?

I was thinking of lowering the oilpickup on a xu9j4.

(Don't want the engine to go bang bang bang again)

How much could I lower the pickup without any problems with getting to close to the bottom of the oilpan?

I've got a 309 GTi16 oilpan with a baffle on this engine.

Wouldn't lower it without also lowering the sump. But with an extra spacerplate it's 15mm.

Is there a problem with fitting an extra spacer?
