Who Is Running R1 Carburettors On Thier Mi16?

Recommended Posts

ORB

Well, the truth is, I am not sure what jets to order as a good starting point.

So I figured that if i were to ask, I would get an idea as to what you guys have in your carbs?

Do you get what I mean?

Cheers boys!

I'm running 180 main jets on my S16 racer - but 175 may be more appropriate on a road car. The R1 needles have 5 settings anyway to adjust mixture - just move the circlips to 1 of the 5 notches.

Cool!

So you are saying that I would be wise to order 175 Dgas jets?

Just want to know exactly what i need to order so I can get the parts I need ready!

Cheers

If your engine is otherwise standard then 175 (either weber or drill out the std items) would be a good starting point. There is another thread on ATM in this section which is listing the other bits you will need - so I wont repeat it all.

Good Luck

Jon

Exept for the carbs, Ive got fairly mild cams and some minor headwork. Do I need 180?

175s should be about right, as said earlier you get 5 height levels to play with which actually make more difference across the board than a size diff of 5. :)

I ordered a set of 175 jets from www.fastroadcars.co.uk on friday afternoon. They landed on my doorstep the next morning.

I spoke to the guys on the phone, what a great bunch of guys, I cannot recomend them enough, all they wanted was to help!

Big thumbs up!
