Falken Ziex Ze 512 Tyres

been looking around for new tyres lately and these seem good value, has anybody used them before? i am looking for something with good grip in the wet and dry, wear and noise isn't a real issue as the car deosn't cover epic mileage.

I had some on my old works van all round, couldnt fault them at all (vauxhall combo D)

 

At the other end of the scale my mate has recently fitted a pair to the back of his lightly tuned R33 Skyline GTS-T (theyre falkens and he says theyre 512's) and he can't fault them either, says they are far better than the crud it came from japan on.

They are bad, No grip in the wet (and that was on a 405) but they do last well, Odd as the 452's are a great tyre but not available in 14 or 15"

Oh dear, I've recently bought a set for fitting to my car.

 

I've read some reports somewhere that said thy were good though.

 

Hope they aren't that bad but they were cheap (£23~ a tyre).

i purchased some for my cti and 1 month later bought some f1s, they were horrible imo

strange this, I've got a set of Falkens on the back of the 205, they're great, so this beggars the question what's wrong with the set Miles had??

Tyres like suspension and how far you puch the car has allot to do with it, Maybe I just drive hard??

Try some lift off over steer in the wet with them on i bet you will need some quick hands.

just to branch off topic slightly, has anyone here tried the new Yokohama Parada's (i think thats what they're called) i'v heard some good things from 205 owners but apparently the guy's on Rally Sport Escorts (random i know, but i seem to know a lot of escort owners) seem to think that they're the worst tyre ever created

As in my earlier post, I use the FK452's and find them great (For a road tyre) but you can only get these from 16" which wasn;t a problem for me as I ran 16's on my old one,

On my CTi, I have got some old Yoko's on there, The 509's which are OK, I have also Raced on these tyres and they are better than the 539's, 510's that came after it.

 

Or a odd ball tyre was the BF Goodridge which I ran on 14" rim's, So long ago I can;t remember which one it was, But having just looked on there website the R1 looks good, Talk about a slick tyre for the road, Shame it's for the states only

 

The Parada's I;ve yet to try but having been out in a car with them fitted I was quite impressed after the current crop of Yoko's

I tried goodyear eagle F1's, Hankook ventus 102 / 105's i think (only short period, low on grip in all conditions) and now i got Falken Ze512's at the four corners.

 

They might have a little less overall grip then the F1's, but they behave more progressive and are thus more predictable/comfortable. The F1's I had started tearing apart, smearing and overheating, the falkens on the other hand have been great in that aspect, just normal wear. Especially considering i have a Mi16 now instead of the old 8v power on the F1's.

 

As a side note, because I'm on a students budget, it means I look after my tire pressure, and the tracking of the car very well. I feel I've given all the tires a good chance at surviving my driving style

I was looking through Max Power at work last night (found it on a plane) & they have some falkens fitted to their staff car Passat () & the main statement they made which worries me now is;

4000 miles & they still look like new

Oh dear.

 

At least they are for my daily drive so they might last a year maximum but if I don't lkike them I'll have to swap for some different tyres. Shame there aren't many of the decent tyres made in 14" without spending loads.
