1.4 Xs Fueling Problems

Recommended Posts

djinuk

over the past 3 weeks my 1.4 xs has been guzzling fuel but i cant work out why, ive been told i may have a small hole in my tank but the car never loses fuel stood still.

When i say its using a lot of fuel i would say over double what its ever used before. could it all be down to the carb.

please help as its costing me a fortune. i used almost as much as my friends 550bhp skyline the other day over the same disctance

Maybe a leak in the fuel line so it only leaks when running.

ermm it has a flat spot when u pull off or change from 1st to 2nd apart form that though it runs really well, although looses a little when the weather is very hot.

I cant actaully smell fuel (no more than usual)

I've been amazed how rich mine will run, and still run quite happily!

if its not running any differently i'd say fuel leak :(

check your fuel lines at the back of the head

near the fuel pump thingy (thats a technical word round here before you ask  )

my XS had a slight split in the line there

check them all just in case
