Duroc 2 1 Cars Posted August 8, 2007 I haven't had one of these on either of my 205mi16's, and they've been fine. But I'm just in the process of putting the engine back in one of them, and thought I might actually put it on (if I can find some M7 bolts ). jim21070 2 Posted August 8, 2007 Nope, No real need Most other XU engines do quite happily without them, especially diesels. So, leave it off and it'll make the whole job easier next time. I don't quite know just what the original reason was for them being fitted, except that the old original starter was a heavy, chunky old thing and perhaps needed the extra support.
