Heavy Clutch

Recommended Posts

christopher

I'm working on a Rallye that has a 106 gearbox fitted. It works fine but the problem is the clutch is very heavy (much heavier then mine) and not a real smooth action.

So what could be the problem and can I possibly fix it without taking the gearbox off ??

Please tell me its something like the cable

yep! probably just the cable, get an o.e one, they do last a lot longer.

other things it could be is the release shaft's bushes, they sometines get a bit tight, and the pedal occasionally does too.

Fair play welshpug :)

Changed the clutch cable yesterday. On removing it i found out that the circlip was missing on the pedal end (could have been very nasty) and on teh gearbox end some plastic was stopping a smooth action. (I'm assuming that this plastoc came from inside the cable). In any case it is now pretty ok.

Thanks..I was panicking a bit
