When Does T-cut Not Work?

Recommended Posts

DaveK

Just bought a 205 and the bonnet and roof are very faded and the paint has cracked, will T-Cut bring this back to normal or is it a respray job?

Im guessing respray as its pretty bad. Its only the roof and bonnet so guessing previous owners just havent polished it and left it in the sun too long

Cheers, Dave

t cut only removes a layer of laquer/or paint to expose fresh stuff underneath

looks like that is well past tcut!

Yeah sounds about right, allthough they might say...'oow thats gonna' be tricky to match'. looks like a fairly straight forward job.

yep as long as they are blending to the wings then its money well spent

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, what would be a good estimate to pay for my complete tailgate panel to be resprayed in sorrento green? the laquer peeled and now its left the bare plastic guff shining through in several places.

Dont Tcut that bonnet or you will have polish in the cracks of the paint...

looks like more lacquer problems. seems such a shame that Pug paint is so badly affected on 205s - ruined the look of mine too

think it'll need flatting back before it can be resprayed; would £300 cover a proper job - ? dunno; i was quoted £800 for roof/tailgate and that was a few years ago; guess prices vary a lot though

probably much cheaper to try and source a s/hand bonnet so could save there
