Recommended Posts

so from cold, start it up, it idles fine for a few seconds the cuts straight out. apparently it doesn't do this once warmed up, but it's not my car and I've not driven it. the owner (brother's GF) took it to a garage and was told the vacuum system needs replaceing ^_^.

any suggestions what it could be? T reg P3 306.

XS = 1.6 8v TU, XSi = 2.0 8v or 16v, being phase 2 most likely 16v.

idle valve/stepper motor problems are common on them (all engines!), but I havent a clue what they mean by "vacuum system" ^_^

Could be an air leak. Try another Lambda sensor.

Nope, the later XS's were 1.8 16v. The earlier ones were TU 1.6 8v. The XSi's are either 2.0 8v (Phase 1) or 2.0 16v (Phase 2 onwards)
