no the 1.9 and 1.6 shafts are different the 1.9 is thicker so the hubs are different

I thought they were the same, or at least they all fit together anyway. Im pretty sure of that from what i have read about changing 1.6 hubs for 1.9 hubs you can still use the 1.6 driveshafts.

They might be different in size but i am sure they interchange..

if you have 1.9 hubs you can only use 1.9 driveshafts, if you have 1.6 hubs you can only use 1.6 driveshafts. the gearbox end is the same, only the hub end varies.

You should be able to use the 1.6 shaft, The 309 uses the same hub across the injected range, unlike the 205 for some reason.

Me too.

The 309 has the same driveshafts across the engine XU engine cars AFAIK

The SRi, XSi GTi and diesel, the only difference might be the caliper offset but I can't see it being that much of a difference.

Graham.

I assumed he meant a 205 1.6 driveshaft, which wouldn't work, but I didn't know 309 1.6 ones were the same as 1.9 ones, thats handy for people doing 309 wishbone swaps...

yes i was on about 309 driveshafts.

It was my left hand driveshaft on my 309 goodwood that broke.

Fixed now as i borught a new driveshaft.

surely that driveshafts aren't the same ascross the 309 range otherwise why would GSF have different part numbers for different models
